January always sets the tone for the year — and for us at iData Destruction, it’s typically one of the busiest months on the calendar.
Why January gets so busy
After Christmas (and before the year really gets away from us), a lot of businesses take the chance to do an annual data purge. Old files get reviewed, retention periods get checked, and anything confidential that no longer needs to exist gets securely destroyed.
At the same time, we see plenty of individuals doing their own “new year, new start” clear-outs — finally tackling that cupboard, spare room, or filing cabinet full of sensitive paperwork. It’s a simple job to put off… until you remember what’s actually in there.

Yesterday was a perfect example of that January energy. We had 9 walk-in customers come in to take advantage of our while-you-watch shredding service.
